معرفی کتاب «حیوانِ کامل» اثر اؤزکان شاهین

«حیوانِ کامل» نوولا یا داستان بلندی اثر «اؤزقان شاهین»، نویسنده ترک، است که توسط «یاشار بیک بابائی» به فارسی ترجمه شده است. این اثر که در سال ۲۰۲۴ در قونیه منتشر شده، توسط انتشارات یاکازا صنعت به چاپ رسیده است.

داستان این کتاب حول محور شخصیت‌های «اوقتای» و «الیاس» می‌چرخد. اوقتای، مدیر صادراتی است سختکوش که برای تأمین معاش خانواده خود تلاش می‌کند و درگیر چالش‌های اقتصادی و اخلاقی است. در مقابل، الیاس، کارفرمای ثروتمند اما بی‌پروای اوست که قول‌های عملی نشده بسیاری داده است. کشمکش اصلی داستان بر سر طلبکاری اوقتای و امتناع الیاس از پرداخت آن شکل می‌گیرد، اما این تقابل، تنها سطحی از لایه‌های عمیق‌تر داستان است.

شاهین در این اثر، با نگاهی طنزآمیز و گاه تلخ، به کالبدشکافی جامعه ترکیه در دهه ۲۰۰۰ میلادی می‌پردازد. او با واکاوی روابط انسانی در بستر مدرنیته و سنت، مفاهیمی چون «تعهد، خیانت، حرص، قدرت و تقلای برای بقا» را به چالش می‌کشد. عنوان کتاب، «حیوانِ کامل»، که مفهومی عرفانی دارد، در اینجا به صورت طعنه‌آمیزی برای توصیف انسان معاصری به کار رفته که در پیچ و خم مناسبات مادی گم شده و از جنبه‌های انسانی و اخلاقی خود فاصله گرفته است.

فضای داستان بین ترکیه و تایلند در نوسان است و نویسنده از سفر کاری شخصیت‌ها به بانکوک برای  واکاوی هرچه بیشتر زوایای پنهان شخصیت‌هایش استفاده می‌کند. رویارویی فرهنگ‌ها، تضادهای درونی افراد و پشت پرده روابط تجاری از جمله درون‌مایه‌های قوی این داستان هستند.

نثر شاهین در این کتاب، روان و در عین حال پرمایه است. دیالوگ‌های قدرتمند و توصیفات دقیق از حالات درونی شخصیت‌ها، از ویژگی‌های بارز این اثر محسوب می‌شود. ترجمه فارسی نیز کوشیده است تا این ظرافت‌های زبانی را به خوبی منتقل کند.

«حیوانِ کامل» تنها یک داستان معمولی نیست؛ بلکه آیینه‌ای است در برابر جامعه‌ای که در آن ارزش‌های اصیل در حال فرسایش هستند و «هدف، وسیله را توجیه می‌کند». این کتاب برای خوانندگانی که به ادبیات داستانی عمیق، روان‌کاوی شخصیت و نقد اجتماعی علاقه دارند، اثری جذاب و تأمل‌برانگیز خواهد بود.

“Hayvan-ı Kâmil” (The Perfect Animal) is a novella by Turkish author Özkan Şahin, translated into Persian by Yaşar Beyk Babaei. Published in Konya in 2024, the book was brought out by Yakaza Sanat publications.

The story revolves around the characters of Oktay and İlyas. Oktay is a hardworking export manager striving to provide for his family, grappling with economic and moral challenges. Standing in his way is İlyas, his wealthy yet unscrupulous employer, who has failed to deliver on numerous promises. The central conflict of the story stems from Oktay’s claim for his rightful earnings and İlyas’s refusal to pay, but this confrontation is merely the surface of deeper narrative layers.

In this work, Şahin employs a satirical and often bitter lens to dissect Turkish society in the 2000s. By examining human relationships within the context of modernity and tradition, he challenges concepts such as commitment, betrayal, greed, power, and the struggle for survival. The title, “Hayvan-ı Kâmil” – a term with Sufi connotations meaning “The Perfect Human” or “The Universal Man” – is used ironically here to describe the contemporary individual lost in the maze of material pursuits, distanced from their own humanity and ethics.

The narrative shifts between Turkey and Thailand, and the author uses the characters’ business trip to Bangkok to further reveal their hidden facets. The clash of cultures, internal conflicts, and the behind-the-scenes of business relationships are among the strong themes of this story.

Şahin’s prose in this book is fluid yet rich. Powerful dialogues and precise descriptions of the characters’ inner states are standout features of this work. The Persian translation has also endeavored to convey these linguistic nuances effectively.
